These Finis life jackets are US Coast Guard approved life jackets, the approved U.S.A. government standard for safety in or around any water environment.

It is recommended that you test the life jacket with your child in shallow water to ensure that it will offer maximum buoyancy, keeping the head and chin above water. Based on their body weight distribution, children float differently than adults.

How to check for a good fit?
Pick the child up by the shoulders of the life jacket while outside of the water. If the life jacket fits correctly, the chin and ears will not slip through the top opening of the life jacket.
