Take safety advice Pay attention to any signs or flags which are designed to help keep you safe. Never swim alone Always take someone with you when you go swimming, even if you are a competent swimmer. Learn how to help Call the emergency services or notify a lifeguard, never enter the water to rescue anyone. Water safety guide Take time to read the water advice pamphlet put together by the Swimming Teachers Association.
